Alderweireld, Cech, Kenedy or Payet - Who is the London signing of the season?

What has been an entirely unpredictable Premier League season is approaching its climax and thoughts will soon start to turn to the transfer market.

But before fans begin to delve into potential targets and untapped potential which could be signed by their respective teams this summer, we must cast an eye back over the business London's teams have conducted over the past year.

Clubs from the capital have had mixed fortunes in regards to their dealings off the pitch - as well as on it - with Tottenham appearing to come out on top on both fronts.

Toby Alderweireld was signed from Atletico Madrid having already spent a season in the Premier League on loan at Southampton and has established himself as one of the division's best defenders.

Arsenal, meanwhile, made just two major signings, and Petr Cech has helped to sure up the Gunners' backline after bringing his decade at Stamford Bridge to an end.

Chelsea have endured a disappointing campaign and while arguably their most high-profile signing Alexandre Pato has failed to get many minutes under his belt, the emergence of Kenedy has proven to be rare bright spot in west London.

Over in the east end Dimitri Payet has taken the division by storm with his swaggering displays and inch-perfect set pieces. The Frenchman arrived from Marseille and has become an instant hit at the Boleyn Ground under Slaven Bilic.

Crystal Palace's League campaign promised much but failed to deliver, yet it should not be forgotten that convincing Yohan Cabaye, formerly of Paris Saint-Germain, to ply his trade at Selhurst Park should be regarded as a coup.

Watford's squad underwent a major overhaul following their promotion to the top flight and it is Etienne Capoue who has impressed the most among Quique Sanchez Flores' flurry of new additions.

But which player deserves to be crowned London signing of the season? Scroll through the gallery at the top of the article to see the candidates and have your say in Standard Sport's poll below...
