Duo set to stay at Brentford

Brentford manager Wally Downes believes Ijah Anderson and Olafur Gottskalksson are going nowhere despite being transfer-listed.

The pair both requested a move after Brentford took steps to cut their squad following the Second Division play-off final defeat by Stoke.

But there have been no takers, despite goalkeeper Gottskalksson training with Stockport County.

Downes said: "It was their decision to go on the list. But being on the list is a futile exercise because no one has any money to spend."
