Downes blast at unscrupulous agents

Wally Downes has blamed unscrupulous agents for Brentford’s failure to land their first-choice transfer targets after loan deals for Rowan Vine and Darius Henderson fell through.

The Bees manager said: “With Rowan, the agent stopped returning calls and he signed for Colchester. With Henderson (who joined Brighton), again the agent made the decision.”

New signing Tony Rougier made his debut in Brentford’s 3-0 defeat by Peterborough. It was their third successive loss.
