Dons set to sign Sweden star

13 April 2012

Wimbledon manager Terry Burton will sign Sweden international Hakan Mild this week after watching him score against England.

Burton has agreed a deal to bring Mild to the club three days after his goal earned Sweden a 1-1 draw.

The Dons manager has agreed a nominal fee for the 30-year-old midfielder, whose contract with IFK Gothenburg is about to expire.

Burton said: "We've spoken to him and he's keen to come. We've agreed a nominal fee to compensate his club for losing him a few months early.

"Whenever you can get hold of such a quality player on a virtual free it's very fortunate."

Mild has earned 73 international caps for Sweden, scoring seven goals.
