Donald agrees contract extension

12 April 2012

Leeds Rhinos' Australian winger Scott Donald, who is averaging more than a try a game so far this year, has agreed a 12-month contract extension with the Super League champions.

The 27-year-old has scored 53 tries and featured in every minute of every game since joining Leeds in 2006.

Coach Brian McClennan said: "Scotty is the best finisher in Super League. In big games, he knows how to get over the tryline but his awareness in defence is first class and he has an excellent kick return."

Townsville-born Donald, who also scored 48 tries in 68 appearances for Manly, is second behind Warrington winger Chris Hicks in the Super League tryscoring chart with nine.

"I am extremely happy to have agreed a new deal for next season," he said. "Myself and my family are really happy in Leeds and we are looking forward to the future.

"The club is going in the right direction and I want to be part of it. It is nice to have the support of the fans and that is what makes this such a great club to play for."
