Don't write us off yet, says battling Boothroyd

Watford's Leigh Bromby: "We played some good stuff in the first leg"

Aidy Boothroyd believes Watford still have a chance of making the play-off final despite their goalscoring drought.

They go to Hull's KC Stadium tomorrow trailing 2-0 from a first-leg defeat, but manager Boothroyd said: "It's one of those scores where you've got a chance.

"It's a fair point to say we haven't scored as many goals as we should have done, but we're creating chances and it only needs a couple of those to come off."

Centre-back Leigh Bromby agreed and said: "We played some good stuff in the first leg but we haven't had much luck.

"Hull are a good side but we put on a decent performance and it's only half-time. I think we can still do it."

Watford are waiting on the result of an appeal against the dismissal of skipper John Eustace at Vicarage Road before naming their squad. It looks like Boothroyd will definitely be without defender Dan Shittu who suffered a hamstring strain on Sunday. But he can call on striker Darius Henderson who is back from suspension.

Bromby added: "Darius is a big player. You could say his goals have dried up but what he does for the team is superb."
