Date set for Harrison debut

13 April 2012

Audley Harrison will make his long-awaited professional debut at Wembley Arena on May 19.

The Olympic super-heavyweight champion's opponent will be announced at a later date.

Harrison said: "I've taken my time to put together a group of quality professionals because it is important the people supporting me share my ambition."

His team will include American trainer Thell Torrence, with Kenny Croom, assisting the man who handled former heavyweight champions Riddick Bowe and Ken Norton.

Meanwhile, Commonwealth flyweight champion Jason Booth and his brother, Nicky, the British and Commonwealth bantamweight champion won on the same bill in Nottingham last night. It was the first time two brothers defended their titles on a domestic promotion.

Richie Woodhall will face London's Toks Owoh for the WBU world title in Cardiff on April 28. Victory would put Woodhall, 32, on course for a world title unification battle before he retires.
