Curbishley gets advice

West Ham's caretaker-manager Glenn Roeder has urged Alan Curbishley to return to the club where he started his football career.

Hibernian manager Alex McLeish has emerged as the favourite to take over from the departed Harry Redknapp at Upton Park.

But Roeder said: "Alan is under a long contract with Charlton and is greatly respected over there. However, coming to us would give him a new challenge and I'm sure he would be a success."
