Cech: We richly deserve title

14 April 2012

Petr Cech today hit out at suggestions that Chelsea have bought the Premiership title.

Chelsea will clinch their first Championship in 50 years if they win at Bolton tomorrow and their Czech goalkeeper believes they thoroughly deserve it.

Chelsea have spent more than £200million on new players since Roman Abramovich bought the club but Cech insists that such buys mean nothing without team spirit.

Cech said: "You can never buy success. Look at Real Madrid. If you just have great players you will win nothing. You need team spirit and hard work. We have both and much more.

"It's always difficult to beat Bolton, who are on a good run, but if we do it will be easier for us to concentrate on the European Cup."

Mourinho will resist the temptation to rest key players at Bolton but the participation of Damien Duff and Arjen Robben will be strictly limited.

The Irishman is expected to miss out entirely with a tight hamstring, while Robben will again start on the bench.
