Cadel considers the ups and downs

Tour de France winner Cadel Evans says he'd love to compete at the 2012 Olympics but only if the courses suit him.

The Australian could compete in the road race, which takes in a hilly route through Surrey before finishing on The Mall, or the flatter time trial. A tough up-and-down ride would favour Evans over specialist sprinters such as Britain's Mark Cavendish.

Evans said: "If I can be the man for the job to represent my country, of course I would love to ride. If it's a course more suitable to someone else, then it should be for someone else."
