Burrow thrilled by dream season

12 April 2012

Rob Burrow admits he could not have come up with a better script as he rounded off a magnificent season with another heroic performance in Great Britain's historic win over New Zealand.

The pint-sized scrum-half was named player of the Gillette Fusion Series after helping Tony Smith's side to a 28-22 third-Test victory at Wigan, which completed a 3-0 whitewash.

Burrow, also named Leeds' player of the year and man of the match in the Super League Grand Final, said: "The way we finished off with Leeds and then to bounce into Great Britain like that and come out 3-0, I couldn't have written it better."

He added: "To be involved in the first team to win a Test series for 14 years is fantastic.

"I've been wanting to play (for Great Britain) for a while. I've been involved in the squad for a while, which has been a good experience, I just wanted that break."
