Bees striker agrees new deal

Brentford striker Matt Harrold has agreed a new two-year contract.

The 19-year-old, who was signed from Harlow Town, scored five goals last season and is viewed as an exciting prospect by manager Martin Allen.

"It's good news for the club. Matt is definitely one for the future," Allen said. "He probably played too many times last season, but we had few other options. Two of the goals he scored were vital."

Allen was today expected to sign his own three-year deal.
