Becks hits out at press

David Beckham: upset with the press
14 April 2012

David Beckham today attacked his treatment in the press - which claimed that he had extra-marital affairs - and described himself as "a nice person and loving husband and father".

The England captain spoke out at a training session in Sardinia.
He said he had contemplated refusing to talk to sections of the media following the coverage given to the allegations.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I've made it clear that with two papers the way I and my family have been treated is an absolute disgrace because at the end of the day, I'm a nice person and loving husband and father.

"I realise as England captain I have an obligation to talk to the fans and that's why I do it."

His comments come just days after he cast aside rumours over his future and said he would stay in Spain with Real Madrid.

He also revealed last Thursday that his wife Victoria and their two children would be moving to a new home in the Spanish capital.

Their eldest son Brooklyn will be enrolled at a Spanish school and Victoria will be continuing her career from her new home.

Beckham has dismissed allegations that he was unfaithful with former personal assistant Rebecca Loos as "ludicrous" and with Malaysian-born model Sarah Marbeck as "absurd and unsubstantiated".
