Any boxer called Muhammad Ali certainly has a lot to live up to.

But the 18-year-old Team GB flyweight is not one for making rash promises unlike his namesake heavyweight great, who was as famous for his words as he was for his actions.

“I’ve only been in the British senior squad for a little while so I’m realistic,” said Ali , who won gold at the European Junior Championships and silver in the world event.

“I will be one of the youngest there so I’ve no doubt it will be a challenge. But it is an achievement for me to have qualified at this age and I’m ready to show the older boxers that I can compete at this level.”
