Winslet top choice for Bridget
If Renee Zellweger turned down a third Bridget Jones movie, British star Kate Winslet would be the most popular actress to fill her shoes, according to a new survey.
Winslet, 29, whose weight has come under as much scrutiny as Zellweger's fluctuating body shape, came ahead of American Vanity Fair actress Reese Witherspoon, 28, in the poll.
At 35, Jennifer Aniston might be more suited to the part of the hapless thirtysomething, and the ex-Friends actress is third favourite for the role.
Less popular choices for the part of the chain-smoking, chardonnay-swilling TV journalist, in the Sky Movies poll, include British actress Helena Bonham Carter, 38, with only 4% of the vote.
Goldie Hawn's daughter Kate Hudson, 25, is slightly more popular with 8%, and former Brookside star Anna Friel, 28, has 12%.
Zellweger was asked at the London premiere of the second movie, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, if she would take the role again.
The 35-year-old Texan star said: "You tell me if Helen Fielding writes another book. People have responded to Bridget with a lot of affection."
A total of 3476 people voted for the poll to mark Sky Movies' Bridget Jones Weekend.
