Wallace and Gromit had a grand day out in Cannes today for the launch of their new film

The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit is the latest adventure featuring Wallace and his faithful dog.

And it stole the limelight from the Hollywood stars gathered for the festival when a 30ft-high inflatable Gromit was unveiled on the Croisette.

The film follows the pair as they hunt for a mysterious beast which is destroying the entries in the town's Giant Vegetable Competition.

Peter Kay, Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes and John Thomson supply some of the voices, along with Peter Sallis, who plays Wallace.

It is the latest film from Aardman Animations and the Oscar-winning Nick Park, and a follow-up to the box office hits A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers and A Close Shave.

The film is released in the autumn and is a collaboration with US movie maker DreamWorks.
