ALEXANDRA PALACE
This display offers one of the best views over London. Get there early for ice skating and the indoor and outdoor funfair. There's also a beer, wine and food festival.

BATTERSEA PARK
One of the capital's most spectacular shows, regularly attracting crowds of 40,000 plus. If you can't stand the crush, you can watch the rockets from the Chelsea side of the Thames.

BLACKHEATH
Billed as the largest free display in England, this event takes place on the vast green space next to Blackheath Village. Arrive early because the crowds can be huge. There will be music and refreshments from 6.30pm, with the 20-minute pyrotechnics starting around 8pm.

CLAPHAM COMMON
Lambeth Council is organising three displays around the borough and expecting to attract around 100,000 people. Largest crowds are usually on Clapham Common, but there are also good displays at Brockwell Park, Herne Hill and on Streatham Common. All Fri 5 Nov, 7.30pm, free.

FULHAM
Bishops Park, overlooking the Thames, is the venue for a fireworks spectacular plus fairground and circus show. Gates open at 6.30pm.

HARLESDEN

ILFORD
Organised by Barnardo's, this annual musical firework display includes funfair entertainment from 6.15pm, with a barbecue, beer and other refreshments on site.

KINGSTON FIREWORKS
