Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes plan to marry this summer, the actor has revealed. Cruise said his fiancee was due to give birth to his baby "any day" and told Germany's Bild newspaper: "I won't let this woman get away."

On TV show Wetten, dass..? Cruise said he had just flown in and would be flying straight out again so as not to miss the birth.

"Katie's going to have the baby any day now," he said, adding that he was waiting by his mobile phone for the call saying she had gone into labour.

But he said he was trying not to be nervous, having been reassured by the former Dawson's Creek star.

"She said it was fine," Cruise said. "Women know these things." He also said the couple had already chosen a name for their first child - but refused to reveal it on camera.

Cruise was in Germany to promote his new film, Mission: Impossible III. "First the baby, then the film," he told Bild. "Then, in summer, we want to get married. I won't let this woman get away."
