Stormzy has delighted fans by dropping new tune Wiley Flow – but the track has left some fans confused over whether the lyrics serve as a diss or appreciation of fellow UK rapper Wiley.

The track begins with a line of dialogue from Wiley, 40, who says: “Bruv, I didn’t look at it this way before, but as I approach my birthday, all you men are my youngers.”

Stormzy then launches into the bar: “This year imma be a household name / I grew up in a house of pain / I don’t do it for the clout or fame / All the real n****s gonna vouch on my name.”

The rapper, 25, then references Wiley’s line about “youngers”, adding: “So please man let’s just be adults.”

He then appears to pay tribute to the rapper, however, with the chorus lyric: “And now I hit you n***** with the Wiley flow.”

At first listen, some fans weren’t sure what to make of the lyrics.

“Is Wiley flow a diss track or paying homeage? I’m confused,” one wrote on Twitter.

Another said: “What’s actually happening with the #wileyflow tune by Stormzy? Is this a beef thing or what? I’m confused, getting both vibes here. It’s a banger though.”

Wiley himself has cleared up confusion though, posting a clip of the track alongside the caption: “My bruddaa 4 life @stormzy.”

Sharing the love, Stormzy replied: “Always love and respect legend #homeage.”

You can forgive fans for being a little sceptical, however, considering the two rappers were recently locked in a feud over Stormzy’s collaboration with Ed Sheeran on hit track Take Me Back to London.

When Ed and Stormzy dropped the song, Wiley posted a comment on Stormzy’s Instagram page, writing: “Oh s**t so now Ed you wanna do grime yeah f***in ell mate.” [sic]

The grime star also came after Sheeran, labelling the pop star a “clout chaser and culture vulture.”

Jumping to his collaborator’s defence, Stormzy promptly replied: “No Wiley you know Ed been doing this from early, been a real one from early, you can’t question that.

“You know I love you and respect you brother but nah don’t do that.”

The Heatwave rapper showed no signs of backing down, responding: “Bro I’m gonna be honest with you, same love and respect but sadly it’s 2019 my brudda, and for real, I am saying it’s sounding very weird, Ed on grime.”

If Stormzy’s latest track is anything to go by, there doesn't appear to be any bad blood between the pair.
