Sarah Harding and Tom Crane have reportedly split.

The couple - who were due to tie the knot next year after getting engaged on New Year's Eve when the DJ proposed to her in the Maldives - are believed to have called off their nuptials after having a number of blazing arguments because the DJ has been working in Ibiza over the summer, while the Girls Aloud singer has been in the UK.

A source told The Sun: "Sarah and Tom had a huge bust-up and told each other the wedding is off. Although they've always managed to patch things up in the past, it's worse than anything they've gone through before.

"They've been fighting like cat and dog. Their relationship has been strained because he's been in Ibiza for the summer and Sarah was working in Britain."

The Girls Aloud singer - who has been dating Tom since 2007 - is believed to have flown to Ibiza last week in an attempt to patch up their relationship after the series of rows.

But following their decision to separate, the 29-year-old pop beauty went partying for three days and refused to answer her phone.

The source added: "If they do get married, they both need to start living their lives differently - and that's not going to happen any time soon.

"It's a shame as they do really love each other but pals can't see how there can be a way back from this."

Sarah previously had a reputation as a party girl when Girls Aloud first hit the charts but revealed earlier this year she prefers to have nights in at their Buckinghamshire countryside home rather than partying in London.

She previously said: "I have changed - I spend most of my nights at home in front of the TV with a log fire and my animals. I mean, come on, give a girl a break!"
