There's so many great venues in Soho to take advantage of that it might seem a bit daunting when deciding where to go on a big night out. So, from early evening drinks to 3am coffee, we've chosen our combination of places to guarantee a great night out...

Early evening drinks

Start the night off in the highly recommended The French House, Dean Street, a legendary little pub with a unique atmosphere, where they only serve beer in half-pints.

If you prefer something with a bit more street cred, opt for the laid-back vibe of the rather more minimalist Alphabet bar on Beak Street.

Dinner

When it's time to grab a bite to eat, you don't want to have to worry about booking a table in advance. Head for Busaba Eathai on Wardour Street where it's first come, first served and people queuing up the street to share a table at this vibrant, informal Thai canteen.

Another popular choice is Randall & Aubin. A very upmarket fish & chip shop, this champagne and oyster bar draws in the hungry punters with its delicious display of fresh seafood on ice. Customers line-up patiently, waiting to grab a free bar stool, as the chefs prepare catch of the day.

Take in a show

If you want to take in a show, head for the Gielgud theatre to see One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest. The show has just received good reviews in Edinburgh and it’s a chance to see Hollywood star Christian Slater making his UK stage debut.

Hit the dancefloor

After all that sitting around watching thespians tread the boards, it'll be time to shake your booty so head for Shinky Shonky underneath the Polar Bear on Lisle Street. It plays everything from Kelis to the Wimbledon theme tune and there are special guest performers from Fake Bush to Knickers the Stripper.

If you prefer something a bit more glam, get your glad rags on for Madam Jojo's on Brewer Street, which offers everything from funk to drag queen action.

After hours

If you’re looking for something hot and steamy to round off a hard night's partying, head for Café Italia — it’s open 24-hours a day so you can sup your coffee under the bright halogen lights until your head clears and you remember where you live...
