HIGHLIGHTS from Carnival 2000

Carnival is over for another year - but what a party it was. Two million revellers squeezed between the Victorian terraces of this trendy west London enclave to rock W11 'til it could rock no more - and they weren't disappointed.

Crowds were 20 deep to get a glimpse of the outstanding mas parade which dazzled punters with spectacular technicolour costumes and floats. Thousands boogied in the parks to the likes of De La Soul and Mad Professor and there was more jerk chicken on offer than you could shake a stick at.

All in all, the 36th Notting Hill Carnival was a roaring success. And if you missed out on all the live action, see what all the fuss was about with the help of our exclusive picture gallery of highlights from Europe's biggest street party.
