Brand of the week: FB collection swim shorts. I have always stuck to my Orlebar Brown swim shorts and still swear by them. But while in St Barths last week I came across a brand with a similar style - FB collection. However, they are slightly more comfortable and have really cool designs, if you want to move away from just the plain block colours. Also, if you are a fan of bat and ball, they have some awesome ones to pair with your swim shorts.

Product of the week: Bluebonnet 100% Natural Whey Protein Isolate powder. Stevie and I want to keep fit while we are out in NYC for two months and having recently joined the gym opposite our apartment, we needed to find a clean and high performing protein powder for after our workouts. We made a trip to Whole Foods and found this, which is all natural, high in protein, and even tastes good.

Event of the week: Our second day in New York. The weather was scorching and celebrations were on the cards, as it was Memorial Day. Stevie, Spencer and myself started the day with a brunch at Dos Caminos in the Meat Packing district, a really cool Mexican restaurant, which was fuelled mainly by Margaritas.

Then we discovered the Standard hotel, which was a close walk away. It has a rooftop and we thought it would be the perfect way to spend our day, looking over the city and enjoying the weather. It opened at 2pm and we managed to get an awesome table in the corner.

We spent the rest of the day drinking Margaritas and meeting New Yorkers, all of whom were in very high spirits. Late into the afternoon, we sparked a conversation with some locals about the best pizza slice in the city. This led us to convincing them to take us on a pizza tour and it was glorious. Having tried four places and feeling extremely full, we all decided our favourite was Bleeker Street pizza. All in all, it was an epic first day in NYC.

Discovery of the week: Noho in NYC. This week Stevie and I moved into our apartment for the next two months, on Bowery street in Noho. Just north of Soho, and, having been here for just a few days, we are loving it! Slightly out of the hecticness of the centre, it is made up of cool bars, restaurants, and filled with young creatives. The best part is our open plan apartment. It has the most amazing roof terrace, which is perfect for the sunny weeks ahead. If I were to permanently move to NYC, I could happily see myself living in this area.

Song of the week:

Moment of the week: We met one of Spencer's friends for a drink, when we bumped into some of his acquaintances, while walking down the Bowery. It didn't take long before we realised that at the table were actors Steve Graham and Domenick Lombardozzi, who are both currently filming in one of my favourite shows- Broadwalk Empire. We spent the next six hours drinking with them at the Bowery Hotel. A very surreal moment, which I have come to learn is typical of New York.
