Madonna: I want to direct films
Pop queen Madonna says being on top of the charts is not enough - she would like to direct films as well
Speaking before the premiere of a two hour documentary about her life, called I'm Going to Tell You a Secret, she said she would like to have a crack at husband Guy Ritchie's profession.
"I'd quite fancy it," she said, responding to director Jonas Akerlund's comments that she showed an aptitude for direction during the making of the film.
I'm Going to Tell You a Secret is the first documentary Madonna has made since 1991's In Bed With Madonna. It provides an insight into her personal life, including her interest in Kabbalah, and begins with her reading a passage from the Book of Revelations.
She arrived for last night's screening with Ritchie, and she was wearing a knee-length black dress with silver trim.
The star is currently number one in the UK single and album charts, and has made it to the top of the charts in 20 countries around the world.
"I have to pinch myself, I can't believe it's happening," she said about her current success.
Stars who turned out for the screening at The Chelsea Cinema in west London included Gwyneth Paltrow, Sharleen Spiteri, Stella McCartney, Tracy Emin and designer Matthew Williamson.
