Katherine Ryan was not in the best mood after her two-year-old son was refused entry to a theme park ride.

The Canadian comedian, 39, took to Instagram Stories to complain about the unfortunate encounter, on what was supposed to be a fun day out with her family.

Ryan had been enjoying a trip to Diggerland over the Bank Holiday weekend when, after queuing for “ages”, her son was denied entry to one of his favourite rides.

“Fred wasn’t allowed on this ride after queuing ages lol ok,” Ryan wrote as she shared a photo of son Fred on Instagram.

The comic then explained to her followers in a video recorded at the theme park: “I don’t wanna ‘big mistake, huge’ that girl too much because she was just doing her job, you know, health and safety.

“But, big mistake.”

Ryan’s daughter Violet, 13, made an appearance in the clip, as she added: “Huge!”

Clearly bothered by the experience, Ryan continued: “Actually, it takes a unique skill set that I admire to do a job like that.

“‘To be able to look at a two-year-old, nearly two-year-old, who’s just queued for 25 minutes and be like, ‘No.’

“And then his mum’s like, ‘Well, look, he’s like, definitely tall enough’, and she’s like… ‘No.’”

The mum-of-three added that she had told the theme park worker that diggers “are the thing [my son] loves most in the world" and that Fred had been queuing up “because he really wanted to go on a ride and drive one”.

The day didn’t end in disaster however, as Ryan later showed her son continuing to enjoy his family day trip at the theme park, whilst digging in a muddy puddle instead.

Ryan’s latest complaint comes after she responded to the backlash she previously received for drinking wine whilst breastfeeding.

“I don’t mind mum-shaming,” Ryan told Metro.

“I feel like anytime people really jump on an issue is because they’re passionate about it, and we’re all very passionate about our children and how we raise them.”

The comedian welcomed her daughter Fenna Grace with her husband Bobby Kootstra in December last year.
