Kasabian have ended Ed Sheeran’s nine-week chart reign with their new album, For Crying Out Loud.

The indie rockers have gone straight in at number one this week, knocking Sheeran’s Divide into second position.

Their sixth studio album rounded out the week on 52,000 combined chart sales, which is 5000 more than Sheeran.

“It’s absolutely incredible to have 5 Number 1 albums in a row. Thanks to everyone who has supported us. We can’t wait to play the new tracks on the road this summer,” Serge Pizzorno told OfficialCharts.com.

Speaking about the new album, he recently told NME: “I’m calling out everyone. Not just bands, I’m calling out actors and anyone with a problem. ‘What’s your band called mate?’ You can see me laughing, mate – it’s all part of the entertainment.”

Sheeran’s third studio album has been holding steady at the top spot since its release earlier this year, with Gorillaz album Humanz failing to knock it off when it was released last week.
