Jodie Turner-Smith has reportedly filed for divorce from husband of nearly four years, Joshua Jackson.

According to TMZ, the British actress, 37, filed for divorce and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.

The couple met in 2018 through mutual friends and have spoken previously about how their relationship was casual to begin with.

But the couple tied the knot in December 2019 after the actress proposed during a New Year’s Eve holiday in Nicaragua, with Jackson saying in the past he “instinctively” said yes.

According to papers seen by TMZ, the date of separation is listed as September 13 – just one day after the pair attended New York Fashion Week together.

Celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser – who has previously worked with Kim Kardashian and Britney Spears – is said to be representing Smith in the divorce.

The Last Ship star shares a three-year daughter Juno Rose Diana with the Dawson’s Creek star, 45. They are seeking joint custody of their daughter.

It is thought that the pair do not have a pre-nup in place, but that True Blood actor Turner-Smith is not seeking spousal support.

Representatives for both Turner-Smith and Jackson have been contacted by the Standard.

Speculation that the pair’s relationship has been on the rocks began in September 2022 when they stopped following each other on social media.

But shortly afterwards, Jackson gushed about his wife in an interview with E!News.

He said: “She is undeniably one of the most beautiful women on the planet. And she always smashes it when she’s on the red carpet. That is truly a wonder to behold.

“But I will tell you, that there is nothing like waking up in the morning, opening my eyes and seeing her face in the morning.”

Turner-Smith spoke in 2021 about how their relationship started out casually.

In 2021 spoke on the Late Night with Seth Meyers. “‘When I first met my husband, we had a one-night stand,” she told the host. “We’re in a two, three-year one-night stand now.”

She spoke about seeing her future husband at a party and feeling an instant connection.

“First of all, I saw him before he saw me and when I saw him, I was like, ‘I want that.’ And then when he saw me, I just pretended like I didn’t see him.”

She added: “All night he followed me around the party. He felt the energy. He felt it.”

Turner-Smith was working as a banker until a chance meeting with Pharrell Williams changed her life path.

He convinced her to move to Los Angeles and pursue modelling – which led her into acting. She made her debut in 2013 when she played a siren in HBO series True Blood .

Turner-Smith is perhaps best known for her 2019 film, Queen & Slim.

Jackson has been acting since 1991 and starred as Pacey Witter in the hit teen show, Dawson’s Creek, from 1998 to 2003.
