It's not often that arriving at a wedding can be described as a hair-raising experience.

But Elton John likes to do things differently.

Elton: Arrives for friend Liz Hurley's wedding but a helicopter ride leaves hin in fear - of losing his hair!

The 59-year-old swooped into Liz Hurley's wedding at Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire in a purple helicopter.

And the gusts of wind from the chopper's whirling propellers clearly gave Sir Elton - whose baldness was miraculously cured overnight in the mid-1990s - a bit of a scare.

The singer flew in to give Hurley away at her wedding to textile heir Arun Nayar.

Elton thrilled guests, including models Eva Herzigova and Elle Macpherson, when he serenaded the newlyweds on their first dance by singing his classic Your Song.

Whether he will perform Sari Seems To Be The Hardest Word for the couple's second wedding, in India, is yet to be confirmed.
