Gail Porter has blamed her rock star husband Dan Hipgrave for causing her stress and depression.

The TV presenter, 35, made the claims in court documents while seeking a quick divorce. Neither she nor the Toploader guitarist were present at the hearing.

In a sworn statement Porter said: "I suffer from stress and depression aggravated by Dan's behaviour."

Mr Hipgrave, 30, agreed to end the five-year marriage but denied that her battle against depression was his fault.

He also objected to paying the costs of the proceedings, saying: "I can't afford to pay her costs and believe the particulars not to be true."

The judge granted Porter a divorce on the grounds that her marriage had irretrievably broken down.

The couple, who separated in 2004, have a four-year-old daughter Honey. When they parted Porter said of their rocky relationship : "It is not sad. No one died. Life moves on."

Earlier Hipgrave claimed their glittering marriage started to fail after the birth of their daughter.

Porter has battled stress, drugs and depression and last year lost her hair due to the condition alopecia. Last month she said it had started growing back.
