Drew Barrymore became tearful as she reunited with her ex Justin Long on her chatshow.

The actress, 47, was joined by the 44-year-old actor, who she dated from 2007 until 2010, on The Drew Barrymore Show to reminisce about the ‘hedonistic’ days of their relationship.

In a snippet released yesterday from the premiere episode, which airs on Monday night, the Charlie's Angels star, who was emotional as she greeted her ex on the set with a hug, told him: “I feel like we've been through so much together.

“When we used to talk and Facetime I was always like, ‘You know I've really grown up Justin.’

“I always wanted to prove to you what a different person I was then when we dated.”

Long replied: “You were the best.”

Barrymore then quipped: “We had so much fun but we were more hedonistic. A little more immature. We would get together, we would break up. It was chaos, it was hella-fun.”

To which the Dodgeball actor responded: “Fun chaos, well yeah, most hedonism is fun.”

The ET actress, who kicked off the third series of her chatshow with her former boyfriend, previously told ET Canada about the pre-recorded chat: “We talk about the good times, we honour his partner and it’s just personal.”

The actor has been dating actress Kate Bosworth, 39, since 2021. Barrymore is single after divorcing husband Will Kopelman in 2016, with whom she shares daughters Olive, nine, and Frankie, eight.

Barrymore and Long played long-distance lovers on the set of 2010 romantic comedy Going The Distance.

During a 2019 interview about his podcast, Life Is Short With Justin Long, Long told Us Weekly that he’d love to have Barrymore as a guest on his show.

“Talk about just enjoying talking to somebody,” he explained. “She’s a great conversationalist, so, of course, yeah.”

The actor isn't the first ex the thrice-divorced Barrymore has reunited with on TV.

She interviewed second husband Tom Green on her show in 2020, which was the first time in 15 years they were face-to-face.

“You’ve had a whole life and I’ve had a whole life, and it’s just really nice to come together and check in and talk about it,” she told him.
