David Beckham has been mocked for posting a picture of himself in celebration of the new royal baby.

The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to her third child with Prince William on Monday morning.

Beckham was among a string of celebs who posted congratulatory messages to the royal couple on the arrival of the new prince.

The former footballer posted a picture of himself with Prince William alongside the caption: “Congratulations to William and Kate on bringing another beautiful boy into this world, plus congratulations to the whole family @kensingtonroyal.”

But fans were unimpressed by his tribute with many slamming him for posting a picture of himself rather than one of the royal family.

One Instagram user commented: “Always you in the picture @davidbeckham ...even when William gets kids/me myself and I me myself and I me myself and I...You are unbelievable.”

Another tweeted: “Feel there should be a picture of Mum and baby here. And what’s with the ‘bringing another Boy into this world’ comment? Really? I’m a huge fan @davidbeckham but this is a bit insensitive. Sorry.”

Kate Middleton gave birth to her third child at 11:01 on April 23 at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary's Paddington. She was visited by her son Prince George, four, and two-year-old Princess Charlotte, before she later stepped out herself with her newborn son.

The royal couple have yet to announce the name, with the bookmakers takins bets on Arthur to be the chosen moniker.
