A host of famous faces including Katy Perry and Taylor Swift have shared their Election Day photos with the world.

As the entire US gears up to welcome in a new President and political era, celebrities are doing their bit to encourage people to vote.

Pop star Perry, who has been part of Hillary Clinton’s campaign trail for months, was one of the first to post a photo of herself casting her vote on Tuesday.

Dressed from head-to-toe in red, white and blue, the 32-year-old shared a video of herself postng her ballot.

Swift, who has been silent on her political leanings, became one of the most Googled stars in the run-up to the election, with fans clearly keen to find out if she’d be voting for Clinton of Donald Trump.

While the superstar has stayed tight-lipped about who she is voting for, she did share a photo of herself at a polling station, under the caption: “Today is the day. Go out and VOTE.”

Other US stars including Eva Longoria, Drew Barrymore, Kate Hudson, Lady Gaga, Jessica Biel and Olivia Wilde also shared pictures of their ‘I voted’ stickers.

Welsh-born Anthony Hopkins, who is now a US citizen, also posted a picture of himself in Twitter under the hashtag ‘#ElectionDay.’

A number of actors and musicians have been outspoken in their support for Clinton in the run-up to the election, with Gaga, Perry and Bruce Springsteen performing at her final night rally on Monday.

Bon Jovi also put on a performance for the large crowd in Raleigh, dueting with Gaga, while Ted Nugent warmed up the crowd for Trump.
