Singer Tulisa Contostavlos has been arrested after reportedly crashing her Ferrari into a Saab in North London.

Police were called to the scene of the incident, which took place outside Southgate tube station last night.

MailOnline reports that the former X Factor judge spent the night in the cells after taking a breathalyser test at the scene.

A Met spokesperson said: “Police were called shortly before midnight on Thursday (Sept 10) to outside Southgate Underground Station following reports of two cars in collision.

“Officers and London Fire Brigade attended. There were no reported injuries.

“One of the drivers, a 27-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and taken to an East London police station.

“A breath test was administered. We do not discuss the results. She remains in custody.”

Another spokeswoman said at 7.20pm the woman was still being held by police.

Henrique Yombi was in his cab office Swift Cars, which overlooks the junction, at the time.

"I was working the late shift and we just heard the noise," he said. "We just heard a big bang - I looked out of the window and saw these two people speaking round the corner.

"The impact had already happened and there was a commotion."

The car was badly damaged, he added. "There was a lot of leaking on the floor," he said. "Some pipes must have burst.

"I don't know how the Ferrari was facing that way - it was on the wrong side of the road. Maybe the impact faced the car that way.

"It just sounded like a crash - the impact was quite loud."

The junction is flanked by a pub and two bookmakers' shops. Ms Contostavlos' Ferrari had been travelling up Chase Road towards Southgate Tube when the collision happened.

The pop star was cleared of trying to arrange a drug deal last year when the case against her collapsed.

After being acquitted, she said: “This whole case was an horrific and disgusting entrapment.”

Evening Standard Online has contacted Miss Contostavlos’ representative for comment.
