Tom Hiddleston has been named this year’s winner of the coveted Rear of the Year award.

The British actor, who is currently dating pop star Taylor Swift, has been given the top honour thanks to his rather racy scene in the BBC’s The Night Manager.

Beating off competition from Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan, Andy Murray and Idris Elba, the 35-year-old has picked up the prize for the first time.

Hiddleston’s posterior became a major talking point as the critically acclaimed John Le Carre adaptation hit screens earlier this year.

One rather racy scene, which was cut from the US version of the series, saw the actor locked in an intimate embrace with co-star Elizabeth Debicki.

This year’s winner of the female award is actress Jennifer Metcalfe, 33, who beat Countdown’s Rachel Riley and Holly Willoughby to the top spot.

Former Strictly star Ola Jordan and Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden were also high up on the list.

More than 10,000 votes were cast by members of the public on the contest’s official website from July 2015 to June 2016.

Hiddleston, who is about to star in new big-budget Hollywood film Kong: Skull Island, is currently shooting in Australia.

Earlier this week he spoke out about his highly-publicised romance with 26-year-old Swift, denying that any aspect of it was staged.

Speaking to People Magazine, he said: “I don't know, it comes down to being authentic.

“Everything you do you have to make sure you truly believe in it and as long as you know that, it doesn't matter what anyone else says about it because the nature of being a public figure is that everyone will have an opinion about anything you do, and as long as you know why you've done something and you've committed to it with authenticity then you're OK.”
