Rob Lowe has publicly slammed actress Bella Thorne for complaining that the California mudslides made her miss her boyfriend’s concert.

The West Wing star, 53, said that Thorne’s comments were part of the reason why “people hate celebrities” in the wake of the tragedy, which has left 17 dead and hundreds trapped or homeless.

Lowe took a screenshot of Thorne’s Twitter post, which has since been deleted, which read: “F*** u 101 to Santa Barbara. I’m missing my boyfriend’s first date of his tour.”

He posted the screenshot to his own Instagram account to publicly shame the 20-year-old actress.

Not impressed: Rob Lowe reposts Bella Thorne's tweet

“This attitude is why people hate celebrities/Hollywood. Bella, I’m sorry you were inconvenienced. We will try to move out our dead quicker,” he captioned the post.

Thorne later insisted that she was unaware that the traffic jam had been due to the horrendous mudslides.

“F*** just caught up on some news had no idea why the 101 was shut down...get home to your family safe,” she wrote on Twitter.

At least 17 people have been killed by the mudslides which ravaged the coastal town of Montecito, while 43 people are still missing.

Lowe, a Montecito resident, revealed that some of his friends were among those still lost after the mudslide.

“Mourning the dead in our little town tonight. Praying for the survivors and preparing for whatever may come. #Montecito,” he wrote on Twitter.

He added: “More terrible stories of loss today. Friends missing, some gone forever. Pray for Montecito and know: EVERY day could be your last. Embrace that.”
