Jess Glynne is the latest star to turn down a role on the new series of The Voice.

The British pop star has admitted that she was approached by ITV producers but is ‘not interested’ in a role as a mentor on the revamped show.

Speaking to The Sun, she said: “There have been talks. People have approached me about it but it’s just not something I’m interested in right now to be honest.”

The 26-year-old went on to say that she might reconsider in a few years, but wasn’t able to comitt to the show at the moment.

“Maybe at some point in the future but not at the moment,” she added.

Glynne is just one of a number of famous stars to have reportedly rejected offers to appear on the singing contest when it switches channels later this year.

According to reports, ITV bosses aimed high when they offered Sir Paul McCartney a chair last month, but the former Beatle has turned it down.

Kylie Minogue was also thought to be in talks to return, with producers keen to reunite her with Sir Tom Jones, who is also in the running for a chair.

Last month a source told The Mirror: “We all know Kylie loves her spinning around and it would be just brilliant to have her back.

“She knows how the show works and is an international star – fingers crossed she’ll say yes.”

ITV are also reportedly hoping that show stalwart Will.i.am will remain on the show and are keen to draft in another US star.

Bosses are thought to be in talks with singer and actress Jennifer Hudson, who won an Oscar for her role in Dreamgirls.

While Ricky Wilson has already ruled himself out of the new series, Boy George and Paloma Faith are yet to confirm either way.
