Take That have employed extra security at their gigs in the wake of the Manchester terror attack.

Frontman Gary Barlow reassured fans who have expressed fears about attending the group’s upcoming concerts after suicide bomber Salman Abedi killed 22 people and left dozens injured at Ariana Grande’s Manchester Arena concert on Monday night.

One Take That fan tweeted: “Gary Barlow I so don’t want to miss Sheffield but I’m feeling scared to come.”

He replied: “We’ve got extra security in every venue to keep us all safe.”

The boyband, made up of Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, postponed their gig at the Liverpool Echo Arena on Tuesday night “out of respect” for those affected by the devastating attack.

A statement from the band, who are currently on their Wonderland tour, read: “Out of respect to all of the people and their families that were affected by the horrific incident last night at The Manchester Arena, we have decided to postpone our show tonight in Liverpool.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.”

Blondie, fronted by Debbie Harry, also pulled out of their gig at London’s Roundhouse on Tuesday and told fans that they are working on when to reschedule.

“Out of respect for the victims of the terrible attack at the Manchester Arena last night, we will not go ahead with the performance scheduled for this evening at the Round Chapel in Hackney, London,” a statement on their Facebook read. “We are working to reschedule the event, and we will communicate details as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.”
