Strictly Come Dancing professional Neil Jones reportedly believes that his wife’s cheating scandal will dash his hopes of having a celebrity partner on the show.

Jones joined the BBC show in 2016 alongside his wife, who won the show last year, but has only appeared in professional dances and not competitively with a celebrity on the main show.

And now it is claimed that Jones feels that Katya being embroiled in a cheating scandal with comedian Seann Walsh will hamper his chances of becoming a full-time member of the cast even further.

A source told The Sun: “He’s keeping a dignified silence, but Neil is getting a bit annoyed now.

“He feels he’s the one being punished even though he’s the innocent party in all this. He is desperate to be a lead dancer, but sadly it looks like it is doing him no favours as he feels he’s being left out.

The judges can see how Neil looks very downcast and embarrassed by it all, but frankly it was all his wife’s doing and yet he has been pushed to the back while she goes through to the next around.”

Standard Online has contacted representatives for Jones for comment.

Jones’ wife of five years hit the headlines last week after being pictured kissing her dance partner, who was in a long-term relationship, after a night out.

Walsh was later dumped by his girlfriend Rebecca Humphries, who claimed she had been branded “nuts” for suspecting something had been going on between the pair.

She said: “Yes obviously I apologise, and I can't apologise enough to everyone who it hurt and involved.

“But, the main thing, me and Neil are absolutely fine and that’s what matters to me the most right now and focusing on my job and doing it as professionally I can.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday October 20 at 6.45pm on BBC One.
