Spice Girls reps have hit out at "untrue" claims the band had scrapped world tour dates in the wake of Mel B’s claim that she slept with bandmate Geri Horner.

The girl band is reuniting for a UK-wide tour in May and reports suggested dates elsewhere across the globe had been in the pipeline.

However, further speculation on Sunday said any further plans had been torn up due to tensions between Horner (nee Halliwell) and Melanie Brown.

A representative for the band told the Standard these claims were "inaccurate and factually untrue".

Relations between Brown, also known as Scary Spice, and Horner, otherwise known as Ginger Spice, have been strained since Brown said the pair had a steamy romantic encounter during the band's heyday.

She told Piers Morgan the group had “all slept in a bed together” then nodded when Morgan quizzed her on whether it was “like that” with Horner.

Horner said this was "untrue" after Brown dropped the supposed bombshell in an interview with Piers Morgan.

In a statement to Standard Online, a representative said: “It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumours again, especially on Mother’s Day of all days.

“Geri loves the Spice Girls: Emma, Melanie, Melanie and Victoria [Beckham]. She would like [the fans] to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family.

“Moving forward, Geri can’t wait to see the girls and all the fans on the tour, have an amazing time with everyone, and make some new memories.”

Brown has reportedly since upset by this denial from her bandmate.

The band currently has 13 dates with the original lineup minus Victoria Beckham all set to take to the stage together once again.
