Cara Delevingne has faced a backlash after praising Beyonce’s Coachella performance.

The model praised the queen of pop’s performance at the festival after previously boycotting the music showcase after the owner was accused of homophobia.

Posting a picture of the Destiny’s Child, Delevingne’s Instagram post read: “I am speechless. That performance made me burst into tears and sent shivers down my spine.

“Especially the Destiny’s child reunion. ICONIC is an understatement. Thank you for inspiring so many and for lifting each other up. #GirlPower @michellewilliams @beyonce @kellyrowland.”

However, critics were quick to bash the 25-year-old for her “double standards.”

One wrote: “ooh I understand it now lol #nochella but why would you support an artist who supports Coachella? Surely Beyonce is adding to the problem and not the solution along with other artists. How can people support anyone who is anti LGBT and pro gun.

“Is that not defeating the purpose of not supporting coachella and actually adding your 2p to it, especially when these celebs have had their fair share of discrimination, they support hate so why would you support anything negative at all that impacts millions of folk.”

Meanwhile another posted: “I think you’re missing the point. If you boycott cochella then you’ve got to boycott it all the way.

“That means not watching it on tv and not praising artists that participated. In fact you should be shaming them for performing. B is overrated btw.”

One defended: “This is why I love @caradelevingne. The fact that we love Beyonce doesn’t mean that we like the Coachella’s organizator... it’s so different and easy to notice.”

Delevingne was quick to defend herself online shortly after stating that she is a fan of the artist not the festival.

On her Instagram story she wrote: “I am allowed to shame that man and the festival and show my appreciation of an artist at the same time.

"Just because I love Beyoncé doesn't mean I now love Coachella."

She added: “I will let nothing get in the way of me showing my love or hate for something.

"Don't let anyone come between you and your truth."
