Simon Cowell’s son Eric is the spitting image of the music mogul.

Eric, four, showed he might just be ready to take over his father’s empire in a few years’ time as he dressed up as the Syco boss as part of Unicef’s World Children’s Day.

Bearing an uncanny resemblance to his 59-year-old father, Eric donned Simon’s signature white shirt unbuttoned down to his lower chest and rolled sleeves, with blue straight-cut wash jeans and black smart shoes.

He tied the look together with aviator sunglasses, his hair in a middle parting and a dusting of grey hair, as well as a rough touch-up of makeup to give the impression of facial hair.

Speaking about his aspirations for his son, Simon told how he one day hoped Eric would fill his shoes.

He told the charity: “I can now talk as a very proud Dad about the joy Eric has brought to my life.

“My dream would be to see him one day running the company I have built. And the most important lesson I have learned is what children teach you. They all have a voice.”

Simon previously told how Eric has changed his “perspective” on the way he runs his business.

He recently told the Sun: “My perspective on life is slightly different than it used to be. I used to be really competitive, read the ratings and have white knuckles. Now I find it funny.

“At the end of the day I always go back to Eric, who will hopefully one day be running these shows — one day, please God.”

The X Factor boss compared himself to a “vampire” before Eric’s arrival, four years ago.

He told the publication: “It was a wake-up call. I think stress, if you want my honest opinion, is the biggest killer of all. I’ve stopped all the crazy late-night phone calls and the late-night meetings. That was the problem.

“Going back to Eric, I have laughed more this year than I have in years and I think it’s one of the best medicines in the world.”
