Chart-topper Sia has announced plans to release a Christmas album of new material after signing a new record deal with Atlantic.

The Australian singer/songwriter will pen and perform an entire album of brand new festive songs, set for release later this year.

The famously camera-shy star is set to write the “collection of orginal holiday songs” with long-time collaborator Greg Kurstin.

“Sia is a once-in-a-generation artist,” said Atlantic’s CEO Craig Kallman and COO Julie Greenwald in a statement.

“Her extraordinary gifts as a singer and songwriter, her revolutionary approach to the art of performing, her groundbreaking videos – everything she does comes from a deep wellspring of inspiration and imagination.”

They added: “Sia is that rare artist who has formed her own singular, boundless musical universe. We are so happy to welcome her into the Atlantic family and to be joining Sia on her amazing musical journey.”

Sia parted ways with Atlantic rival RCA following the release of her last album, following in the footsteps of Kelly Clarkson.

She's joined a roster which includes Charli XCX, Coldplay, Meek Mill, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and Rita Ora.

Her last album, To Be Human, was released in January 2016 and shot to the top of the charts all over the world.

The singer is also in the process of directing her first feature film, which will star frequent collaborator Maddie Ziegler.
