Scarlett Moffatt has revealed her mental health is suffering at the hands of cruel body shamers who have targeted her recent weight gain.

The former Gogglebox star, 27, said she puts on a brave face in public despite spending days crying over comments from trolls.

“It’s really affecting my anxiety,” she told The Sun. “I spend days crying and putting on a brave face.

“I worry about the impact on younger girls like my little sister, who is only 11, and how it affects her and women as a whole. I want them to be happy in them-selves, whether that’s athletic, slim or curvy.”

Moffatt dropped to a size 8 after being crowned Queen of the Jungle on I’m A Celeb in 2016, before later going up to a size 12 to 14.

She said she is tired of the constant focus on her weight, saying she is “slated” whatever size she is.

“I just don’t like this constant pressure,” she said. “I was slated when I slimmed down to an eight, now I’m slated being a size 12 to 14.

“I want people to enjoy the shows I’m on and read the books I write because I make them smile, because I make them think — not because they think I look good in a bodycon dress.”

Moffatt’s comments come a day after she slammed the media for “trying hard” to “drag women down” with “unflattering photos” after a publication appeared to accuse her of digitally altering an Instagram selfie she published while filming in Florida.

Hitting back at the critics she tweeted: “When online papers/magazines try their hardest to use unflattering photos and drag women down do they realise what they’re doing to peoples mental health.

“I understand it’s part of the parcel of being in the public eye but Body shaming NEEDS TO STOP!”

Fans inundated her account with supportive messages including Bake Off champion Candice Brown, who tweeted: “You are bloody perfect!!! It's everyone else.”

Presenter Charlotte Dawson told her to “ignore the b*******” while Gaby Roslin told her she is “bloody wonderful”.
