Piers Morgan has said he is unfazed by the death threats he receives from “morons”.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, 51, said he doesn’t worry about being a target despite receiving threats “every three minutes” during his time at CNN.

Speaking to The Sun he said: “I've never had security, I take care of myself.

“If someone wants to try their luck then good luck to them!

“I honestly don’t worry about being a target.

“When I was in America at CNN I did a campaign about gun control and I was getting death threats every three minutes.”

Morgan was met with a chorus of boos during his appearance at the National Television Awards with his co-host Susanna Reid. On taking to the stage one man shouted: “Shoot him.”

Speaking about the outburst, Morgan said: “A few morons shouting at me… what is he going to shoot me with? His d***?

“Let’s be honest now, from what I hear, it’s not the biggest.”

Morgan was booed after his public spat with Ewan McGregor, in which he called the actor a “paedophile-loving hypocrite” after McGregor cancelled an appearance on Good Morning Britain over Morgan’s controversial views on the Women’s March.

McGregor was scheduled to be interviewed about his new film, T2 Trainspotting, on the ITV breakfast show when he pulled out minutes before.

Explaining his reasons he tweeted: “Was going on Good Morning Britain, didn't realise @piersmorgan was host. Won't go on with him after his comments about #WomensMarch.”

Morgan scolded the actor for letting down his fans and for refusing to engage in a debate with someone who held a different viewpoint.

He called for a boycott of his films and said McGregor had "revealed himself to be a narrow-minded, stupendously self-aggrandising, anti-democratic little twerp".
