Piers Morgan has lashed out at JK Rowling, branding her “terribly irritating”.

Morgan – who was recently embroiled in a Twitter spat with the world famous author – grabbed the opportunity to lambast Rowling during a discussion on Good Morning Britain.

Entertainment editor Richard Arnold was talking about Rowling’s latest tweet which included a picture of what looks like a script for the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel.

Clearly unimpressed by the news Morgan said: “I don’t know who any of these people are.”

Susanna Reid said: “Because you’re the only person in the world who hasn’t read Harry Potter.”

Morgan disagreed, adding: “There’s a silent majority of tens of millions of us who don’t know one end of a Muggle from a Voldermort.

“Never read Harry Potter, never watched the movies, never want to and I think JK Rowling is terribly irritating. Other than that I’m a big supporter.”

His latest comment comes weeks after he came to blows with Rowling after she shared a clip of Morgan being told to “f*** off” on US show Real Time with Bill Maher.

They went on to slate each other's political views with Morgan accusing Hillary Clinton supporter Rowling of having “superior, dismissive arrogance” while Rowling branded Morgan a “bully” over his friendship with Donald Trump.

But Rowling ended the spat with a knock-out blow when she tricked Morgan into mocking his own words.

She tweeted a screen grab of an article which praised her for encouraging children to read, and called for the mystery writer to reveal themselves.

She wrote: “Just been sent this! Could the writer let me know who he is? I'd love to thank him! #Valentines.”

Morgan accused her of “humblebragging” – but failed to realise that the excerpt was from a Daily Mail article titled The 100 British celebrities who really matter by Piers Morgan.
