Peter Andre has been praised for posting a picture of his wife Emily MacDonagh breastfeeding their son Theo.

Fans thanked Andre, 43, for “normalizing” the act after he shared the picture with his 560,000 Instagram followers.

The picture shows MacDonagh looking down at their son as she cradles him to her chest.

He captioned the image: “I walked in and saw this. Just perfect. #hungrylad.”

One fan posted: “Thank you for this. Beautiful photo and encouraging to see breastfeeding being normalized, as it should be.”

Another wrote: “The most natural thing ever in the whole world! Love this x x.”

But the post also sparked a fierce debate with some accusing Andre of having ‘no values’ while another said it ‘wasn’t suitable for social media’.

Andre’s post comes a day after Tamara Ecclestone hit out at the “hatred” around breastfeeding, and criticised those who try to “sexualise” it.

Ecclestone posted a picture of herself breastfeeding her daughter Sophia and called for the act to be seen as nothing more than a “mum doing her best”.

She posted: “Find it a very sad and surprising sign of the times and the world we live in that the act of breast feeding your child evokes such hatred in so many bitter people. I am astonished that breast feeding mums get such a hard time as there is no reason why we should.

“I would never ask someone when they will take away their toddlers bottle or follow on formula or cow’s milk or dummy or comforter nor do I judge those who choose to formula feed their children or give them cow’s milk. I support and empower all mums and I personally believe hatred is so heavy and bad for the soul.”
