Love Island fans invested eight weeks – their whole summer – on the hit TV show only to have Paris Hilton ruin the final.

The socialite and DJ, 37, stole the limelight from host Caroline Flack by prematurely announcing the winners ahead of the live show.

Hilton allegedly tweeted, then swiftly deleted, a congratulatory post to Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer minutes before Flack unveiled the winning couple.

She tweeted: “Congrats @Dani_MasDyer & @Jack_Charlesf on winning @LoveIsland you both deserve it.”

She then re-posted the tweet after Flack had made the announcement on live TV.

The show was hit with fix claims, while others were upset at having the news, albeit not unexpected, announced online.

One fan tweeted: “How did Paris Hilton know Dani and Jack won #loveisland before it was aired? Either a fix or a very big mouthed producer friend!”

Another posted: “Haha I thought it was live.”

A third wrote: “You ruined it already @ParisHilton.”

Fincham and Dyer beat Laura Anderson and Paul Knops, Kaz Crossley and Josh Denzel and Megan Barton Hanson and Wes Nelson to be crowned Love Island 2018 champions.

They opted to split the £50,000 prize money after being given the opportunity to split or keep.

The couple, who joked they would finally join the Do Bits Society, were congratulated by Dani's dad Danny Dyer who showered his daughter with praise in an Instagram story.

“'You've only gone and done it,” he shouted.
