Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Ola Jordan has claimed some male celebrities accidentally got “aroused” during intimate dances on the BBC show.

Jordan, 33 – who is married to fellow dancer James Jordan – said despite professional dancers warning the celebrities to ‘dress to the left’, some would forget and find themselves red-faced.

Speaking to the Daily Star she said: “Celebs are not used to having such intimate contact and aren’t sure how to deal with it.

“The woman can feel absolutely everything – and I mean everything. If the man hasn’t ‘dressed to the left’ there is a danger he might get a bit excited, especially if he has to rub up against the woman during a routine.”

Jordan – who didn’t name names – continued: “A lot of the male dancers would do the decent thing and pass this information on to the male celebs when they started on the show.

“Sometimes the male celebs forgot the advice and would be embarrassed when a female dancer had to say, ‘Ooh, I think you need to move that to the other side’.

“Occasionally, it was too late and some men inevitably got aroused.”

Current contestant Ed Balls found himself red-faced after he asked for a man to "fluff" him down during a Strictly photocall without knowing what the term meant.

A member of staff discreetly explained that the term 'fluffer' was used in the adult entertainment world to refer to someone who helps someone become aroused.

Speaking at the Labour conference fringe event the former Shadow Chancellor said: "I said to the director person before we do the next one I need the fluffer.

"They said what? And I said 'you know, the guy who comes and fluffs me'. Then he came out and he did it.

"Afterwards, when we were walking, the director said 'I just need to say, in the world of film, light entertainment and other kinds of entertainment the word fluffer does not refer to the man with the lint."
