Avengers stars including Ryan Reynolds, Chris Evans and Paul Bettany have joined forces to help out a terminally-ill fan after they spotted a viral tweet.

The A-list stars have all agreed to reach out to a young boy called Emilio after FOX news anchor Shannon Bream tweeted to ask them to send their greetings as he had “just days” to live.

“Need your help Twitterverse — trying to help a young boy who is dying,” she wrote. “He probably has just days and all he want is a greeting from one of the Avengers. If you have a celeb connection, please let me know. Otherwise, could you help out with a RT [retweet]? Thank you in advance!”

After the tweet was reposted more than 10,000 times, the stars of the hit blockbuster films noticed and were quick to respond.

Replying to Breem’s tweet, Captain America star Evans wrote: “Happy to! DM me.”

Deadpool actor Reynolds added: “I’m more of a “Reserve Avenger”. But happy to help. DM me.”

“I'm the purple one. DM me,” wrote Bettany, while Don Cheadle posted: “DM me.”

DC star Zachary Levi also offered his support, saying that he’d happily do impressions of all the Avengers for little Emilio.

He wrote: “I’m not technically an Avenger, but I’d be happy to record a video for the little man and do my best impressions of @ChrisEvans @prattprattpratt @chrishemsworth or any other Chris if necessary. Where can I/we send these messages, and what’s his name?!”

A number of the Avengers cast have been generous with their time in recent months, with Spider Man Tom Holland spotted visiting the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital and Reynolds meeting kids as part of the Make a Wish Foundation.
