Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards sends One Direction fans into meltdown after referring to herself as 'Perrie Malik'
Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards caused a social media frenzy after she referred to herself as Perrie Malik, fueling speculation that she has secretly married Zayn Malik.
A video was posted on the band’s official Instagram account which showed Edwards, 21, swap her surname for that of former One Direction singer Malik.
The video prompted fans to question whether the couple - who have been engaged since August 2013 - had tied the knot in secret.
One user wrote: “Guys what if Perrie and Zayn were secretly married?”

Others appeared to be angered by the possibility and tweeted: “Just saw the ‘Perrie Malik’ thing and I’m puking omfg.”
Another posted: "Don't ever say "perrie malik" in my presence smh sounds like a foreign disease."
Some accused the singer of using Malik’s fame to promote Little Mix, writing: “More like ‘Perrie I’m-using-my-boyfriend-to-promote-my-band-because-we’re-a-big-flop Edwards.'”
Malik - who quit One Direction to be a "normal 22-year-old" - has been following Edwards around the UK as she promotes her band's new single Black Magic.
